Senior Mechanical Engineer - Mission Critical | Baltimore, MD

My client, a nationally recognized architecture and engineering firm with a strong footprint in the mission critical market, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their Baltimore office. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the design and delivery of cutting-edge data centers and other mission critical facilities.
About the Role:As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead mechanical design efforts on complex projects, including hyperscale and enterprise data centers, ensuring technical excellence, innovation, and adherence to schedule and budget. You will collaborate with internal and external teams, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the growth of the mission critical practice in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Key Responsibilities:Lead HVAC and mechanical system design for mission critical facilities
Coordinate across disciplines to ensure cohesive, integrated project delivery
Perform site assessments, load calculations, and system selections
Review drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure quality and compliance
Mentor and oversee work of junior engineers and designers
Engage directly with clients and stakeholders to deliver tailored engineering solutions
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; PE license strongly preferred
8+ years of mechanical design experience, with a proven track record in mission critical/data center projects
U.S. Citizenship is required
Proficiency in Revit and energy modeling tools (e.g., Trace, HAP, IES)
Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills
