Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Emergency Room (ER) team at Methodist University Hospital. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency nursing, preferably with prior travel experience, and be capable of providing high-quality care in a Level 1 trauma center setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional nursing care to patients presenting with acute illnesses and trauma in a fast-paced, high-acuity ER environment.
• Perform rapid assessment, triage, stabilization, and ongoing management of emergency patients.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, specialists, and support staff to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed.
• Document patient care and clinical changes accurately and promptly within the designated EMR system.
• Participate actively in emergency procedures, resuscitation, and advanced life support.
• Adhere strictly to hospital policies, regulatory standards, and infection control protocols.
• Demonstrate professionalism and compassion in interactions with patients and families, providing education and emotional support as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 2+ years ER experience with travel assignments OR 3+ years ER experience without travel.
• Licensure: Must hold an active Tennessee RN license or a valid Compact RN license at the time of submission (no pending licenses accepted).
• Travel Eligibility: Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility.
• Previous Travel: At least one completed previous travel nursing assignment required.
• Education: BSN preferred but not required (except for select positions).
• Certifications: Current BLS certification required; ACLS and other specialty certifications preferred.
• EMR: Experience with Cerner EMR system is preferred.
• Trauma Experience: Must have experience working in a Level 1 trauma center or equivalent high-level trauma experience.

Work Schedule:

• Night Shift: 4 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Block scheduling typically not accommodated.
• Scheduling details will be discussed during the interview and may be subject to change.
• Facility observes major holidays including New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas; staffing during these periods is mandatory based on the outlined holiday coverage policy.
