Job Description
Spanish Teacher SDJA is seeking a full-time Spanish teacher to teach Spanish from levels 1 through AP for high school students. The successful candidate will foster an immersive language environment that not only develops students' fluency in Spanish but also deepens their understanding of the cultural context of the language. The teacher will engage students with a range of abilities, from those new to the language to advanced learners, creating a classroom atmosphere that encourages communication, problem-solving, and cultural exploration. The ideal candidate will incorporate diverse teaching strategies and real-world applications of the Spanish language, making it relevant and dynamic for students. In addition to classroom instruction, the teacher will assess and monitor student progress, participate in faculty meetings, collaborate on curriculum development, and engage in extracurricular activities, including student life programming and school events
Requirements SDJA seeks an experienced Spanish teacher with a minimum of 3 years of high school teaching experience who exhibits excellence in the classroom, and has a background in curricular and pedagogical innovation. The successful candidate will possess the following capacities: a love of working with high school students, a passion for Spanish and the teaching of it, the ability to provide differentiated instruction, and can inspire students to acquire strong world language skills. A bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
Salary Range & Benefits Package The anticipated salary range for this position is $54,269 to $86,971. The offer to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to: the type and years of experience; training; practical knowledge; and education.
