Job Description As a Security Officer - Armed Government Site - Full Time in Reno, NV, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more . As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a secure environment within a government location. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols, remaining highly visible to help deter unwanted activity, and responding promptly to incidents as they arise. This is an armed and driving post, requiring you to be prepared to act with professionalism and integrity at all times. You will interact with the public and staff, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication while upholding the values of Allied Universal. Position Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $24.74 / Hour Job Schedule: DayTimeWed12:00 PM - 08:00 PMThur12:00 PM - 08:00 PMFri12:00 PM - 08:00 PMSat12:00 PM - 08:00 PM What You'll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities:
  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the premises and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor access points and verify credentials of individuals entering restricted areas as required by site protocols.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents, hazards, or unusual occurrences according to Allied Universal and client procedures.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency services when necessary, following established protocols.
  • Remain alert and aware of surroundings to help to deter potential threats and maintain a secure environment for employees, visitors, and property.

Minimum Requirements:
  • A minimum of three years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or a college degree is required.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required and must meet Allied Universal driver policy requirements for driving positions only.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
