Roseville Community School is a small, progressive learning center serving homeschooling families through a child-centered, play-based, and inquiry-driven approach to education. With small class sizes (12–14 students) and a strong focus on individualized learning, we nurture confident, curious, and compassionate learners. Position Overview
We’re hiring a Kindergarten Teacher who is experienced, nurturing, and committed to progressive early childhood education. The ideal candidate will embrace hands-on, emergent curriculum, prioritize social-emotional development, and collaborate with colleagues and families to support young learners in a joyful, inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement a developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum

• Introduce foundational literacy and numeracy through hands-on, meaningful experiences

• Integrate project-based and inquiry-based learning rooted in student interests

• Build a warm, inclusive, respectful classroom culture that supports social-emotional learning

• Communicate regularly with families via conferences, updates, and newsletters

• Collaborate with team members and contribute to school-wide events and planning

• Participate in weekly meetings, professional development, and reflective practice

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree

• Experience working with early childhood or elementary-age children

• Familiarity with progressive education (e.g., Dewey, Kohn, Bev Bos)

• Understanding of child development and inclusive, responsive teaching

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and time-management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• California teaching credential or equivalent

• 2+ years of lead teaching experience

• Experience with project-based curriculum design and authentic assessment

• Background in SEL frameworks such as Conscious Discipline or Responsive Classroom
