An Accounting Intern is responsible for practicing their accounting knowledge and skills in a professional setting. Their duties include supporting accounting teams with various accounting projects and tasks as they gain more confidence within their role. Opportunity Petco Animal Supplies Stores, Inc. has a current opening for a paid intern to join our Accounting department with a focus on theAccounts Payable function. This paid internship will provide hands-on professional experience in tasks currently performed by the existing team such asinvoice to receipt variance research, payables review, report preparation, vendor dispute support,assisting with the preparation of audit support, and other assigned projects. Please note, this is not a posting for a future summer intern position, but a current opening. What To Expect

• The Petco Accounting Internship Program is a 12-week opportunity. The intern will be expected to work within normal business hours, 40 hours/week, Monday - Friday.
• A GPA of 3.2 or higher is preferred.
• Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree program with a focus in Accounting and an anticipated graduation date between May 2025 and August 2025, or have recently obtained a Bachelor's Degree with a focus in Accounting.

• Communication: Listens carefully to others. Communicates clearly and concisely. Provides appropriate level of detail in communications. Writes with accuracy, simplicity and completeness. Keeps others informed.
• Build Collaborative Relationships: Relates to others in an accepting and respectful way, regardless of their personality or background. Builds relationships by identifying and discussing common interests and priorities. Remains positive and respectful, even in difficult situations. Involves others as appropriate when issues affect them.
