CHOREOGRAPHER for YIT's 2025-26 Season

We are seeking a creative and passionate choreographer to join our musical theatre production team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dance and a deep understanding of musical theatre. Responsibilities include collaborating with the director and musical team to create and implement engaging choreography that enhances the storytelling of the production. The choreographer will lead dance rehearsals, provide guidance to performers, and ensure that all choreography aligns with the overall vision of the show.

DANCE INSTRUCTOR

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Dance Instructor to join our team, specializing in musical theater, jazz, and tap dance. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in various dance styles and a passion for teaching students of all ages and skill levels. Responsibilities include designing engaging lesson plans, leading classes, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. The instructor will prepare students for performances and help them develop technique, creativity, and confidence in their dance abilities.

Summary

As a Dance Instructor and Choreographer, you will be responsible for teaching various dance styles to students of all ages, fostering their creativity and passion for dance. Reporting to the Executive Director, you will develop engaging curricula that enhance students' skills while ensuring a positive and structured classroom environment. Your core teaching abilities, combined with premium skills in curriculum development and relevant experience in classroom management and working with children, will be essential in creating a supportive learning atmosphere. Key Responsibilities

- Develop original choreography for musical numbers.

- Collaborate with the director and musical director on artistic concepts.

- Teach and rehearse choreography with cast members.

- Adapt choreography to suit the skills and styles of individual performers.

- Coordinate with production staff to ensure staging and technical needs are met.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in choreography for musical theatre
• Proven experience in teaching and instructing dance
• Strong dance background in various styles (e.g., ballet, jazz, contemporary)
• Ability to work collaboratively in a creative environment
• Strong skills in curriculum development tailored for various age groups
• Effective classroom management techniques
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Experience working with children and adults in educational settings
• Additional skills in directing are a plus
