Electro-Mechanical Technician

Printpack is seeking a qualified Electro-Mechanical Technician to provide expertise and effective support in keeping the equipment/plant at optimum operating condition. This position will provide electro-mechanical support to the plant and maintain plant equipment and machinery. This position is for the Converting plant in Grand Prairie, TX. This will be a day shift position from 7am - 3pm (Mon-Fri).

***We are currently offering a Sign-On Bonus in the amount of: $3,000!**

Key Responsibilities:

• Read electrical, hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic schematics and identify operation of system
• Install, operate and maintain electrical and electronic equipment and systems
• Inspect and test electronic equipment using multi-meters, ammeters
• Troubleshoot 24V analog and digital circuitry, electric motors and identify failures in the plant
• Set up and troubleshoot VFDs
• Troubleshoot mechanical systems and identify and repair mechanical malfunctions
• Use shop equipment, such as welder, mill, etc, to manufacture or repair mechanical components
• Recommend changes in installation specifications to simplify assembly & maintenance
• Monitor installed equipment to identify potential failures
• Communicate actions taken to repair the machine to operator and/or manager
• Communicate effectively with team members, corporate engineering, vendors, and internal customers
• Demonstrate knowledge of plant and process safety rules, safe operating methods, and good housekeeping standards

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Nice blend of mechanical and electrical experience
• Experience working with single phase / 3 phase motors
• Experience working in a food grade environment
• Experience working on printing press, laminators, or slitters

Minimum Requirements:

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is required
• Minimum of two year technical training/apprenticeship plus three years maintenance experience preferred.
• Strong emphasis on troubleshooting in a team environment
• Able to effectively redirect efforts on short notice
• Proficient computer skills
• Able to work any shift
• Willingness to learn
• Physical ability to climb and work at elevations
