Position Summary

Reporting to the Vice President of the Firebirds Hockey Marketing team, this position directs all aspects of the Firebirds Mascot Program. The Director of the Mascot Program will supervise the scheduling of multiple part-time Firebirds Mascots, manage performance event schedules, and evaluate mascot performances for the AHL Firebirds Team.

This role offers a salary of $95,000 to $100,000 and is bonus eligible.

About the Venue

The AHL Coachella Valley Firebirds are jointly owned by Oak View Group and the Seattle Kraken ownership group. They are the affiliate of the Seattle Kraken and finished their inaugural 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons as Western Conference Champions. The team plays at Acrisure Arena.

Responsibilities

The Director of the Mascot Program will be responsible for executing the Performance Program seamlessly, providing exceptional customer service, engaging with the community, and building relationships with the Firebirds team and partners. The role involves managing multiple part-time mascots and delivering an outstanding entertainment experience during games.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in sports entertainment management and as a mascot or performance artist
  • Ability to manage and direct multiple mascot performers
  • Experience in stadium, arena, or public assembly facility settings
  • Bachelor’s degree in facility management, hospitality, business, or related field
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet applications
  • Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one
  • Knowledge of event operations, crowd management, customer service, supervision, and safety regulations
  • Experience with budget management and familiarity with entertainment/convention settings
  • AutoCAD experience is a plus but not required
