TechConnect is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer for an industry leading client based in Tulsa, OK .

This is a critical position for our client and they need an individual that is well versed in cybersecurity best practices with a proven track record implementing, maintaining and helping drive the information security program. This individual must be able to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast paced environment. They need someone that is efficient, dependable, has the desire to help others, and fosters a collaborative and innovative environment while promoting a culture of security awareness.

As the SCE your responsibilities will include helping drive the adoption of cybersecurity best practices, helping manage security operations, identity and access management, ensuring security policy compliance, directing security incident response, understanding and improving alerting/logging, and more. You will work with technical analysts and engineers in multiple locations. You will support IT, Governance, Application and Security teams in designing, developing, and documenting technologies to meet their objectives. You will act as the technical lead for firewall lifecycle management and other security tooling. You will support the cyber tool administration team, serving as a mentor and point of escalation for issue resolution. You will drive continuous improvement by understanding, documenting, and suggesting enhancements to processes involving security toolsets, and advocate for the implementation and configuration of best practices for cybersecurity capabilities to ensure their efficiency and effectiveness. You will recommend new or alternative technologies to better support company objectives.

To be successful in this role you must be well versed in information technology and cybersecurity best practices. You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders at all levels. You must find the appropriate balance for cybersecurity controls and the business’ ability to operate efficiently. You will need to exhibit excellent decision making and analytical problem solving skills with the ability to complete tasks in a production based environment. You need to be highly organized, have a strong attention to detail, be able to work independently as well as thrive in a team environment while providing excellent support and service.

Responsibilities (continued)

• Manage security products such as EDR, NGFW, NDR, SIEM, M365 security features and other cybersecurity technologies.
• Help develop, implement and enforce security policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Help develop a centralized monitoring and response standard that aligns with security monitoring regulatory requirements, internal/external assessments and internal cyber policies. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations and industry standards.
• Coordinate, manage and participate in responses to security incidents, conduct thorough investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent future incidents, and work with the proper internal teams.
• Help develop, implement and manage the information security program according to the companies goals and industry best practices.
• Identify, assess and prioritize information security risks with business leaders and risk teams to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Monitor and guide compliance with established policies and security regulatory requirements.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability analyses.
• Evaluate and assess the adequacy and effectiveness of controls in place to safeguard data privacy and confidentiality.
• Stay on top of emerging security threats, technologies and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field, with a minimum of 8 years’ experience in cybersecurity, systems engineering, or a similar role.
• Experience working with EDR, NGFW, NDR, SIEM, M365 security features and other standard cybersecurity technologies.
• Experience with these security technologies are required: Firewalls, SIEM, EDR, IAM, Routing, major public cloud provider and application security tooling.
• Experience managing security operations for a multi-site environment.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks, standards and best practices such as NIST, CIS CSC, ISA/IEC 62443.
• Ability to assess risk, develop effective mitigation strategies and an overall strong technical knowledge of network, application and infrastructure security.
• Understanding of common cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities.
• Knowledge of networking concepts, operating systems, and security fundamentals.
• Well versed in security tools such as antivirus software, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, etc.
• Strong networking background with core routing and switching topologies/configuration and troubleshooting.
• Hands on experience with cloud-based infrastructure, deployment models, and security technologies.
• Understanding of application/network layer protocols such as SFTP, and SSH.
• Relevant skills or certifications from major security vendors.
• Experience with Windows and Linux/Unix environments.
• Experience with common ticketing systems, physical and virtual infrastructure tools.
• Preferred – Experience conducting information systems and cybersecurity audits. Certifications such as CISSP, CISM or equivalent.

Work Location/Travel

• 100% onsite position, no remote work (client facility located in Tulsa, OK).
