CREATIVE ARTS DIRECTORS:
- We’re seeking artistically-creative, mature individuals to supervise our Creative Arts Program, which features a broad spectrum of projects that provide campers the opportunity to artistically express themselves.
- This position requires high moral character, strong leadership and management skills, good teaching ability, an outgoing personality, and the ability to be organized and work hard.
- The Creative Arts staff includes certified art teachers with experience managing diverse art programs, and 6-10 university-level instructors majoring in art or with documented experience teaching all levels of art expression to children of all ages.
- Instruction is tailored to the camper's individual skill level, with patience and thoroughness, ensuring safety and enjoyment.
CREATIVE ARTS PROGRAM:
Arts & crafts, pottery (throwing pots), pottery wheel operation, ceramics (glazing & firing), kiln operation, clay sculpting, t-shirt creations (tie-dyeing, airbrushing, fabric painting, silk screening), painting (watercolor & acrylics), drawing, sketching (charcoal pencils), jewelry making, beading, basket weaving, lanyards & braiding, leather craft, macramé, paper mache & plaster projects, wood projects, copper enameling, block printing, needle craft, mask making, decoupage, model rocketry, nature crafts, and cooking classes.
CREATIVE ARTS FACILITIES:
- The Junior Campus Creative Arts Pavilion features a Pottery Room with 12-15 pottery wheels, a Sculpturing/Clay Work Room, a Kiln Room with 3 kilns, a Photography Room, T-Shirt Creations Room, and over 6000 sq ft of indoor workspace.
- The Teen Campus Art Pavilion includes a pottery area with 4 wheels, a kiln room, and an 1800 sq ft art project area.

CREATIVE ARTS DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure top-quality instruction at all skill levels.
Prepare a course outline with a variety of art projects from beginner to advanced.
Ensure campers enjoy and succeed in their activities.
Manage and supervise all instructors.
Maintain high safety standards.
Care for and maintain camp equipment.
Keep the program area clean and organized.
Organize and monitor the 'Art Display Show' during visiting days in July & August.
Enjoy working with kids.
Possess a good sense of humor and the ability to laugh!
Conduct training for instructors on kiln operation, pottery wheels, safety, etc.
Evaluate and qualify instructors before campers arrive.
Enforce camp principles, policies, objectives, and philosophy.
First-aid and CPR certification is recommended.
